Common questions

Is the AI Image Generator free?

Yes — the AI Image Generator is free to try, with 5 image generations included. No account or credit card required. Create photorealistic visuals, illustrations, app icons, and more before you commit. For unlimited use, upgrade to Setapp AI+ starting at $14.99/month + tax.

Which AI model powers this tool?

The AI Image Generator runs on DALL·E 3 from OpenAI — one of the most capable models for generating photorealistic and illustrative images from text.

What image formats and resolutions are supported?

Images are available in PNG format at 1024×1024px, 1024×1792px (portrait), and 1792×1024px (landscape) — all ready for web, social media, and standard print sizes.

How do I write a good image prompt?

Be specific. Include subject, style (photorealistic, illustration, minimal), colors, mood, and composition. For example: a minimalist flat calendar icon in blue and white on a clean background produces better results than just 'calendar icon'.

How do the best AI image generation apps in 2026 compare to this?

Most standalone AI image generation tools in 2026 require separate accounts, upfront payment, or a learning curve. This is built into Setapp AI+, so you generate, refine, and download in one place, alongside every other AI tool you need.
